Indian Football
(Episode – 04)
Rajani (Anchor of Maha Tez TV News
Channel):- Right now, we are in Chinchavan area of Navi Mumbai, just in front
of the Chatrapati Shivaji Football Stadium. As you can see, lots of Mumbaikars
are protesting on the streets as around 70% of the tickets for the India Vs
Finland match have been sold out in Black. The prices were inflated by double
the original prices of the tickets.
**************************************************
Tanaji Thackeray (Chief Minister
of Maharashtra):- Hey Ganesh, Shiva, Bala; arrey dekho re kaun lok black kar raha hain
ticket. Aisa dhulai karo ki dobaara kabhi koi ticket black na kare.
**************************************************
Michael Monroe (Commentator of
FIFA World Cup):- Hi everybody. This is Michael Monroe and with me, he is
Winston Williams. The game between India and Finland has started. The
Chatrapati Shivaji Stadium is looking marvellous on this evening. It is 6.30 PM
now in Mumbai.
Winston Williams (Commentator of
FIFA World Cup):- Well, it is at the outskirts of Mumbai. The name of this
place is Chinchavan and it is a part of Navi Mumbai nowadays. Oh! What a shot
by the Finland Striker, Dominique. The Indian Goalkeeper managed to save it at
the right time.
Michael Monroe:- It seems as if
this Finland Team is in a hurry to score the 1st goal of the match.
Nathan is sprinting from the right flank and crosses the ball at the centre.
Patterson receives the ball and passed it backwards towards Bentoli. Bentoli
took a long shot. Peter Silva, the Indian defender stretched his left leg at
the right time to deflect the ball. Finland got a corner.
**************************************************
Sunil Chetri:- Boss! The strategy
of 5-3-2 is just not working at all. Finland is attacking frequently.
Rajanikanth Modi:- In the last
match, our boys played too much attacking football and paid the price. At
least, let our boys play defensive football in the first half. In the 2nd
half, they will play aggressive football. Don’t worry!
**************************************************
Winston Williams:- Ooh! It was a
nice header from Tyler, the Finland Striker. But, it was so near, yet too far.
Indian team is very lucky that the score line is still 0-0.
Michael Monroe: - Finland team’s
midfield region is somewhat not so strong enough, but, still the Finland
Strikers are creating some chances to score a goal. Patterson got the ball. The
ball may go in. Sangram, the Indian goalkeeper gave the charge at the right
time. Oh! No! Mario Morichiko, the Mexican referee has blown the whistle.
Patterson is lying down on the ground. It’s a Red Card for Sangram Mukherjee. Basanta
Banerjee, the substitute goalkeeper of Indian Team is entering into the ground
in place of Muktar Naqvi, the Indian defender. The Indian coach is very much
angry on this decision. The referee and the Linesmen are trying to cool down
the heated scenario. Patterson is going to take the penalty kick.
Winston Williams:- I think that
it is a very harsh decision to give the penalty decision. The Indian goalkeeper
deserved a Benefit of Doubt decision. Goal! Patterson scored the 1st
goal of this match through a penalty shootout at the 37th minute.
*************************************************
Rajanikanth Modi (scolding his
boys at the dressing room):- Have you all forgotten the basics of football? Finland
Team didn’t even experience any counter-attack from our side. Even you guys are
not receiving the football properly, forget about accurate passing. You guys
are just idiots! We will lose this match and we will have no chances to qualify
for the next round.
Suresh Murmu:- We will try to
play better football in the 2nd Half. But, we have one humble
request. Change the formation.
Rajanikanth Modi:- In the 2nd
Half, play the game with 3-2-2-3 formation. Form an invisible Rectangle in the
midfield area. The moment the ball enters inside that Rectangle, slow down the
speed of the ball to frustrate the Finland strikers.
Baji Rao Achrekar:- We must focus
on accurate small passes to make that strategy work effectively for us.
*******************************************************
Michael Monroe:- India is playing
a different style of football in the 2nd Half. The game is looking
very boring, but, still, India is creating some chances to enter inside the
penalty box area of Finland too frequently.
Winston Williams:- Sloppy
football of India is frustrating the Finland players. But, due to the slowness
of the game, the Indian Defenders are getting enough time to cover up any gaps.
Peter Silva is sprinting dangerously. Aah! What a pass it is indeed towards
Arjun Thapa. Thapa took the shot! Ooh! The ball just kissed the upper bar of
the goal post. After 76th minutes of play, the score is 1-0. To stay
in the competition, both India and Finland would like to win this match.
******************************************************
Sunil Chetri (while sitting at
the side bench):- Both Tomba and Chiranjit are looking tired.
Rajanikanth Modi:- Hmm...We must
infuse fresh legs. Send in Debraj Venkateshan and Dilip Majumder as their substitutes.
******************************************************
Winston Williams:- Indian coach is sending
in their substitutes. Only 8 minutes left for the match. Can India score the
equalizer goal?
**********************************************************
Jayanta Dasgupta:- Increase your territory.
We will start flank-by-flank attack. Speed up the game.
Suresh Murmu:- Ok!
**********************************************************
Michael Monroe:- Aah! Now, Indian Team is
playing good football. They are firing in from all ends. It is 89th
minute now. 5 minutes more to go as there is 4 minutes of injury time. Foul!
That’s a bad foul by the Finland defender. Jayanta Dasgupta has injured his
right knee. It’s the 2nd
Yellow Card for Ramonas, the Finland Defender. Finland is down to 10 men now.
Winston Williams:- Sunil Roy took
the free kick. The ball deflected from the human wall of Finland Defenders. Dilip
Majumder received the ball and took a long left-footed shot. Oh! That’s a fabulous
goal. Goal! The entire Chatrapati Stadium erupts. We can hear the sounds of
crackers in the streets of Navi Mumbai. The referee blew the final whistle of
the match. The score is 1-1.
********************************************************
Rajanikanth Modi:- We could have
won the match also. But, you guys are not having that killer instinct within
you. That’s a problem.
Sunil Chetri:- Brazil has
defeated Ghana by 3-2 in Yuva Bharati Krirangan Stadium of Kolkata. So, we
still have a chance to qualify for the next stage.
Tomba Llong:- Yeah! We can
qualify.
Gurdeep Singh Saini:- Oye! Koi sawal
pucha hai tere ko kya?
Sunil Chetri:- Ei, stop fighting
like kids. Let us see where we stand. Brazil has won 2 matches and having 8
points. India is having 2 points only.
Finland drew with both Ghana and India. So, Finland is having 4 points and
Ghana also has 2 points. Therefore, to qualify in the next stage, India must
beat Ghana. But, if Finland wins against Brazil,
then there is no chance for us to qualify.
Rajanikanth Modi:- The outcome of
the Brazil Vs Finland match is not in our hand! But, we can surely give a very
tough fight against Ghana on 2nd July 2034 (Sunday) at Dalai Lama
Stadium in Ladakh.
****************************************************
Iftikhar Hussain (while relaxing
on a seat of an Indian Airlines Plane):- Thaium Gyatso, the Dalai Lama will be
the Chief Guest of the match between Ghana and India in Ladakh.
Harilal Tamang (while relaxing on
a seat of an Indian Airlines Plane) :- If I get a chance, I will surely take
his blessings before the match starts.
