INDIAN FOOTBALL (EPISODE-10) !!!

Indian Football

Episode - 10

Navin Tiwary (Anchor of Aaj Tak News Channel):- Can India beat Brazil in the final match of FIFA World Cup 2034? Already, Nayeiro, the star striker of Brazil has scored 6 goals in this tournament and in the race of golden boot with other strikers. In the Semi Final match against France, Nayeiro scored a sensational last minute goal. The Nayeiro factor is helping Brazil to play top class football in this World Cup! What’s your opinion on that?

Tapas Roychowdhury (President of East Bengal Club):- See! Brazil is Brazil. It’s like a branded holy fragrance or aroma of football. Without Brazil, the game of football really misses its charm. Nayeiro is not better than Milito. But, Milito being a No. 1 Striker of the world failed to take his team to the final whereas, Nayeiro has succeeded in it. I think that Brazil will easily beat India by 3-0 or maybe, 3-1.

Sailen Manna (President of Mohun Bagan Club):- I don’t think that it will be too easy for Brazil to win the final match. There is still 10% chance that India may win the final match. A Final match of any game is the battle of nerves, temperament and mind games. Analyze the psychology of the Indian footballers. They have nothing to lose. They have performed much better than their own expectations also. They are playing World Cup for the first time and they are in the final. They will try their level best to win the match, but, even if they lose, there is no shame in it, because Brazil is a much stronger team. On the other hand, think about Brazilian players. They will be under constant pressure if they concede a goal from India in the 1st Half. Above all, Brazilian football team is too some extent dependant on a star striker like Nayeiro. But, Indian football team is not having any star. 11 mediocre players will play freely as they know they all are complementary to each other.

***********************************************

Rajanikanth Modi:- This is our squad for the final match.

Indian Squad for the Final Match against Brazil

1.       Sangram Mukherjee (Goalkeeper) (Vice Captain)
2.       Ranjit Singh Rathore (Defender)
3.       Chiranjit Malakar (Defender)
4.       Tomba Llong (Midfielder)
5.       Gurdeep Singh Saini (Midfielder)
6.       Harilal Tamang (Striker)
7.       Arjun Thapa (Striker)
8.       Jayanta Dasgupta (Striker) (Captain)
9.       Dilip Majumder (Striker)
10.   Sunil Roy (Striker)
11.   Rajdeep Samanta (Striker)

Jayanta Dasgupta:- We will play with only 2 defenders! Do you want us to concede 5 goals from Brazil in the 1st Half itself.

Rajanikanth Modi:- To kill poison, you need another poison. To tackle strong attacks, you have to go for strong counterattacks.

Sunil Chetri:- Offense is the Best Defense.

Rajanikanth Modi:- Exactly! Boys! I don’t want that World Cup. I am just giving you a target. Score at least 5 goals against Brazil. You don’t have to worry about the victory or defeat in the match. Just go for 5 goals. Attack the Brazilian defense with so much aggression that they start feeling the tremors in their defense line up. You will play in the formation of 2-2-6. Now, the 6 strikers are given free permission to change their combination accordingly like 2-2-2 or 2-3-1 or 1-4-1 or 1-3-2. In my opinion, 1-3-2 will be a deadly combination where Dilip Majumder will play the role of ball passing manager. Best of Luck to all of you! JAI HIND.

All the team members of Indian football Team:- JAI HIND! Sir!

Harsh Mayar (Anchor of FIFA World Cup 2034 Closing Ceremony):- Good evening everyone! This evening of 23rd July 2034 (Sunday) is the final evening of the FIFA World Cup 2034 at Lim Bo Seng Football Stadium of Singapore. The Closing Ceremony of the FIFA World Cup 2034 resumes.

Parzan Dastur (Anchor of FIFA World Cup 2034 Closing Ceremony):- The Music Band of Maori tribal people of New Zealand is just creating a magical moment out here. The vocal music, the sound of conch shells, drums along with the terrific laser shows is just awesome. The tribal people of Singapore are now going to perform their dance to showcase about the need for creating an underwater city as due to global warming, some of the big cities may get drowned in severe floods. Fantastic! My goodness! The choreography and the laser shows are just too good.

Ashnoor Kaur (Anchor of FIFA World Cup 2034 Closing Ceremony):- It’s now time to hear the song from Baby Sehgal, the grandson of Baba Sehgal. Please welcome Baby Sehgal on the stage.

Baby Sehgal:- “Somebody someday said, ‘Hey Baby! What’s in a name?’
                            Somebody someday said, ‘Hey Baby! What’s in a game?’
                           There is almost nothing in a name, but there is surely something in a game.
                           If you succeed in life, you feel proud of your name;
                          If you succeed in a game, you fall in love with that game.
                 But if you fail to succeed in life, if you fail in a game;
      My question is to you, to you, to everybody including God, why that becomes a shame?
              Always fight for your pride; always be ready to take the roller-coaster ride;
                 Because life is itself a beautiful game;
                     So now, take the final call
              Keep on playing the beautiful game of football;
                     As this game teaches about life to all.
           Football! Oh! Football! What magic you have in you! Oh! Football
           Just keep on playing the beautiful game of football.”

Harsh Mayar (Anchor of FIFA World Cup 2034 Closing Ceremony):- Oh! Yes! Football has its own magic and it’s a magical game to be admired too by all. The closing ceremony ends with a fantastic song sung by Baby Sehgal. The final match between Brazil and India will resume shortly.

Napoleon Nadal (Commentator of FIFA World Cup):- Hello Everyone! I am Napoleon Nadal and Michael Monroe will be coming in the commentary box shortly. It’s a carnival atmosphere in Lim Bo Seng Football Stadium of Singapore. The game has started. Hi Michael!

Michael Monroe (Commentator of FIFA World Cup):- Hi Nadal! Oops! The Portuguese referee, Francis Fernando is as usual, a very strict referee. He has already booked Gurdeep Singh Saini of India and Zeco of Brazil. 10 minutes of the game is over. Maurinho passed the ball to Nayeiro. Oh! No one is there to mark Nayeiro. One to one situation! Goal! Brazil is leading by 1-0.

*****************************************
Jayanta Dasgupta:- Don’t panic! We don’t want to win the match. We want to score 5 goals only.

Gurdeep Singh Saini:- High waves emerge in the sea beach when there are low waves for a long period of time. I am going backward in the Central Defense area. Whenever you guys feel that our attacking move is not going to create a crack on Brazilian fortress, just back pass the ball to our defense area to start a fresh move again with full force.

Jayanta Dasgupta (whispering at Sunil Roy):- Saala! Sardar hole ki hobe! Bhaloi seyana buddhi dhore.

Sunil Roy (whispering at Jayanta Dasgupta):- Buddhi jaate jhore na jaaye, tai maathaye pagri bedhe rakhe. Ha ha ha...

Jayanta Dasgupta:- Ha ha ha...Ok! Guys! Play one-touch passing football now, but with accuracy.

****************************************
Michael Monroe (Commentator of FIFA World Cup):- Indian footballers are just playing time-pass football or what. They are passing and passing the ball only. Or is it a strategy to slow down the speedy attacking movements of the Brazilian strikers.

Napoleon Nadal (Commentator of FIFA World Cup):- Cerezo made the sliding tackle, but, Arjun Thapa one touched the ball to steer it in a no man’s land. Harilal Tamang sprinting in and dribbling too!  Good tackle by Navarro to snatch the ball from Harilal, but, Rajdeep Samanta wasted no time to snatch it from Navarro’s foot and shooting the ball towards the Brazilian goal post. Sampaio, the Brazilian goalkeeper failed to save the ball. India is back in the game with an equalizer goal at the 36th minute of the game.  The score is 1-1.

Michael Monroe (Commentator of FIFA World Cup):- Brazil is attacking now. Pauline to Binto. Binto crossed the ball towards Nayeiro. Nayeiro gave a fantastic pass to Maurinho. Maurinho! Lovely finishing touch to score the 2nd goal for Brazil! Brazil is leading by 2-1. 42 minutes of the match is over.

Napoleon Nadal (Commentator of FIFA World Cup):- Zonta made a foul. Zonta and Arjun Thapa are exchanging some words between them. Francis Fernando came to the spot and immediately showed Yellow Cards to both of them. Ha ha ha. Automatically, the situation is under control. Arjun Thapa took the free kick. Sunil Roy received the ball and chipped it towards Harilal Tamang. Harilal dribbled through Gurgel and Melo’s defense. Sampaio is charging on. Harilal Tamang passed the ball to Rajdeep Samanta at the right time. Just a simple touch was enough for Rajdeep to score that goal. Brazilian defenders demanded that Rajdeep Samanta was in offside position, but, the Linesman confirmed that Rajdeep received the ball in onside position. India came back again with their 2nd equalizer goal. The score is 2-2.  3 minutes of stoppage time added.
Michael Monroe (Commentator of FIFA World Cup):- Binto to Zeco. Zeco sprinting in from the left flank! Chiranjit Malakar made the clearance. Gurgel took the throw. Pauline passes the ball to Nayeiro. Oh! Ranjit Singh Rathore slipped on the ground. Nayeiro took the shot. Sangram punched the ball in the air. Zeco headed the ball inside the net to make it 3-2 for Brazil. The referee blew the whistle to end the 1st Half of the match.

************************************************
Rajanikanth Modi:- You guys are not attacking that aggressively. I want to see more aggression.

Jayanta Dasgupta:- We are playing football, Sir! We are not in a battlefield. But, still we are trying our level best to play as much aggressive football as we can.

Rajanikanth Modi:- Ok! Best of Luck!

************************************************
Michael Monroe (Commentator of FIFA World Cup):- Cerezo! What a run! Passed the ball to Navarro! Navarro passed the ball to Pauline. Pauline took the shot and got the goal. Brazil is leading by 4-2. 52 minutes of the match is over. Brazil is on the driving seat now.

Napoleon Nadal (Commentator of FIFA World Cup):- It is too early to comment. Ranjit Singh Rathore made a long clearance. Whoa! Arjun Thapa received the ball at an unmarked zone. Arjun Thapa running in! Oh! No! That’s a hard tackle by Binto. The referee gave a strong warning to Binto. Arjun Thapa is going to take the free kick from a very advantageous position. We have seen so many swinging in free kicks, but, this one swung out, but, the ball entered into the net. Oh! Sampaio, we feel sorry for you, but, it was just one of the outstanding out-swinging right-footed free kicks of all times. Well done, Arjun Thapa! Brazil is still leading by 4-3. Only 29 minutes left in the match.

***********************************************
Rajanikanth Modi:- Time to control the entire game in the midfield region. Pauline, Zeco and Navarro are creating dominance in the midfield region to supply good balls towards Nayeiro and Maurinho. We must send in two good midfielders now. Any suggestion!

Sunil Chetri:- We need aggressive defenders, Sir. Jignesh Jadav and Baji Rao Achrekar are best fit for the job.  But, they will replace which two players?

Rajanikanth Modi:- Sunil Roy and Rajdeep Samanta.

**********************************************
Napoleon Nadal (Commentator of FIFA World Cup):- India is playing all out attacking football now. 76 minutes of the match is over. The mini battle is going on in the midfield region. India may be doing a gamble by playing all out attacking football. Look at Sangram Mukherjee. He has sprinted half way towards the centre of the ground to take a long shot towards Dilip Majumder at the right flank. Melo is giving a tough challenge to Dilip Majumder and the ball went out for a corner kick. Tomba Llong is going to take the corner kick. Jignesh Yadav received the ball and took a powerful shot at the goal. The ball touched the right leg of Gurgel and went to hit the left side bar post of the Brazilian goal post to rebound towards Gurdeep Singh Saini. Gurdeep Singh Saini took a left footed shot. Gurdeep! That’s a goal. Indian team is again back in the match. The score is 4-4. Only 3 minutes left in the match and an extra 1 minute of stoppage time.

Michael Monroe (Commentator of FIFA World Cup):- This is a very interesting moment of the match. Now, India is playing their normal game. They are not going for all out attack. Jayanta Dasgupta is removing his captaincy band and giving it to Sangram Mukherjee. Suresh Murmu replaces Jayanta Dasgupta. Sangram Mukherjee is ordering his boys to go for all out attack again. Tomba Llong took a long shot, but, Sampaio somehow managed to save it. India got a corner kick. Only 1 minute left in the match.  Are we heading for the Extra Time? Harilal Tamang took the shot. Chiranjit Malakar back passed the ball to Baji Rao Achrekar. Baji Rao Achrekar sprinted forward a little and gave a one-touch pass to Suresh Murmu. Suresh Murmu chipped the ball towards the left flank area. Ranjit Singh Rathore dived towards the ball and headed it towards the goal post. Sampaio also dived in the air, but, the ball went inside the net. Goal! What a photo it will be in tomorrow’s newspaper, where a striker and goalkeeper are diving in the air and the ball is making its movement towards the goal. Amazing goal! India is now leading by 5-4.

Napoleon Nadal (Commentator of FIFA World Cup):- What a goal! The referee blew the final whistle. The entire stadium erupts. Rajanikanth Modi, Sunil Chetri and the other members of the Indian football team are running inside the ground. What a moment for them. Playing in the World Cup for the first time and winning it for the first time. India is the World Cup Champion of the FIFA World Cup 2034. Not only India, not only Singapore, all the Asian nations are celebrating this victory. An Asian Team has created a new record in the game of football. There are tears in the eyes of all players. Indian players are having the tears of joy in their eyes and the Brazilian players are having the tears of sorrow in their eyes. They have lifted Rajanikanth Modi. Why not! These Indian players must feel proud of their coach, assistant coach and also the other team members.

Michael Monroe (Commentator of FIFA World Cup):- Indian players are making the victory lap in the Lim Bo Seng Football Stadium of Singapore. In a short while, the Indian team will be lifting the Cup of Gold, i.e. the FIFA World Cup of 2034. Yes, there they are. Lionel Messi, the President of FIFA is handing over the FIFA World Cup of 2034 to the Indian football Team. Well played, India! Your performance will remain as an example for any football team to play like a dark horse in any tournament. We are signing off for now.  Bid Adieu, FIFA World Cup of 2034.

Navin Tiwary (Anchor of Aaj Tak News Channel):- This is a glorious day for the game of football in India. No one ever had a wildest dream to see India as the World Champion of Football. But, they achieved it.

Tapas Roychowdhury (President of East Bengal Club):- I knew that it would happen. My heart was always saying that India will win the FIFA World Cup of 2034.

Sailen Manna (President of Mohun Bagan Club):- Dhaath! Khaali bhaaotabaaji. You are the one who was always saying that India will not even qualify in the Round of 16 stages. Rather, you should give credit to my positive and rational thinking. I had a strong belief that India will reach the Semi Final. Now, they are World Champion. Ei jeh tui baaji here geli, kaalkei tui amake Chingri Malai Curry er treat dibi Bhajahari Manna Restaurant e niye giye.

Navin Tiwary (Anchor of Aaj Tak News Channel):- Ok! Gentlemen! A live Press Conference is going on in New Delhi. Let us focus a few minutes there.

Sachin Tendulkar (Sports Minister of India at a Press Conference):- How many nations play Cricket and how many nations play football? I think that winning a World Cup Football tournament is much more creditable than winning a World Cup Cricket Tournament. I hope that the Indian footballers will keep on playing with the same spirit and dedication in the days ahead. We will give more focus to improve the infrastructure of football in India. This Indian football team has proved that India has talented footballers but due to lack of proper infrastructure, they were not getting groomed properly as per FIFA Standards. Once again, I congratulate the Indian Football Team.

Bhaichung Bhutia (President of AIFF):- From now on, our target will be to qualify in all the World Cup Football Tournaments. It is tough to reach at the top but it is tougher to maintain that top position. We announce to give Rs. 10 lakhs to each footballer of this Indian Football Team. Once again, I congratulate the Indian football team for such a glorious victory.

Lionel Messi (President of FIFA):- First of all, I congratulate the entire Indian Football Team for their terrific performance to lift the FIFA World Cup of 2034.  Team Spirit is the keyword to success for any team in this world. This Indian Team had a very positive team spirit. We are planning to open up a FIFA Football Research Academy for the cream footballers of India at Kolkata very soon. Thank you.

Rajanikanth Modi:- Thank you!

Arindam:- Sir! I have one humble request. This time, I am inviting you and your entire team at the Dining cum Conference Hall of Royal Bengal Palace Hotel of Kolkata for an episode of the TV program, ‘WINE WITH ARINDAM’.

Rajanikanth Modi:- Sure! Sure! Why not! But, I also have a humble request. You must write a short story on “INDIAN FOOTBALL” which would inspire the young footballers of our next generation to play much better football in the future ahead.

Arindam:- Well, frankly speaking, I have never ever written any story in my life. Anyway, I will try my level best to write a short story on “INDIAN FOOTBALL”.
